God’s yearning

_______________________

So small,
so little
is this prison-cell that we call
“being”
that the grace of God
so vast
so magnanimous
as it circles around it
energetically,
impatiently,
cannot get through
to us,
to where the sum of human suffering
can be for ever
erased.

Now why then
that infinite sphere
of healing light
never tires
of breaking through
to us?
Perhaps,
by every tear dropped,
every moment of fear,
and every breath of every living being,
somewhere out there,
God
too
is yearning for us.
